REGULATIONS
Participants are obliged to fully respect the rules described below. They are also obliged to obey the instructions of the organisers. Failure to comply with the regulations or instructions will always incur the penalty of disqualification. The race judges, when they become aware of infringements of the rules, will record them and inform the offenders. Any other person authorised by the organisation may also record any infringement that comes to their attention and submit it to the organising team for consideration.

- RACE ROUTE: The routes of the races follow mainly dirt roads which are clean and marked. In addition, a few days before the races, additional signposting is installed to better facilitate the athletes. - TIME LIMITS: Both routes will have time limits. More specifically:
- At the Rezakas Challenge των 24,7Χλμ θα υπάρχει όριο τερματισμού στις 5ωρες (έγκυρες χρονομετρήσεις έως τις 15:00). Θα υπάρχει και ενδιάμεσο σημείο χρονομέτρησης στα 11,9Χλμ με χρονικό όριο αποκλεισμού τις 2ω:30λ.
- In the 8K Rejaka Entry there will be a 2 hour finish time limit (valid timing until 12:30 pm).
- The exclusion thresholds are common to all. After the completion of the time indicated above, athletes who arrive at the intermediate disqualification point are obliged to hand in their timing chip. Athletes who wish to do so will be able to continue the course out of competition but at their own sole risk, after they have first handed in their timing chip and their number and have signed a solemn declaration of waiver of liability by the Organisation for anything that happens to them from that point onwards.
- ATHLETE NUMBER (BIB): All participants are required to wear the individual entry number (BIB) which they received upon receipt of their package and must be prominently displayed on the front of the package. The number must remain on the vehicle for the duration of the race (see 14). Numbers are NOT to be exchanged between participants.
- TIMING CHIP: All participants of both routes are required to wear the timing chip that was handed to them upon receipt of their packet in an envelope. The chip comes with instructions for fitting it so that it will work properly. If they do not wear the chip, they will not be timed and their participation will be considered invalid. Also, the chips are individual and are registered based on the individual participation number (VIB) and the full name of each participant, so the exchange of chips between participants is prohibited.
- ROUTE MARKING: The marking of the routes is distinguished by the two main colours of the races. The orange in the Rezakas Challenge and the Green in Regaca Entry. The marking of the routes consists of position and directional signs with spray paint in visible places, with ribbon and with wooden and/or metal signs.
- EXTERNAL ASSISTANCE: External assistance to participants by anyone at the aid stations and on the route is allowed. Participants may be accompanied by persons not bearing a race number provided that they do not assist the athlete or interfere with other athletes. The athlete may be accompanied by familiar persons during the last few metres of the course.
- AUXILIARY MEANS: The use of hiking baton is allowed. It is also allowed to have and use a map, compass, GPS & mobile phone.
- MOVEMENT ON THE ROUTES: Participants are obliged to move along the course without forming groups that extend in width, thus preventing athletes who would like to overtake.
- POWER STATIONS: In both routes the organization undertakes the water supply - feeding of the participants at specific points of the routes, as well as after the finish.
- EQUIPMENT: Each athlete has the right to carry on his/her person the equipment that he/she considers necessary to cope with the respective route.
- ROUTE SHORTCUT: Shortening ("cutting") the route is prohibited and is punishable by exclusion. Each competitor is responsible and obliged to follow carefully the colour markings at specific points on the route, which indicate the correct course.
- CHECK POINTS: The Checkpoints of the race are compulsory for all athletes. All main Stations and some intermediate Stations as well as the passage to the waterfall of Rezzaka are also Checkpoints. Athletes are obliged to have their number in a prominent place so that the judges can record their number. In the event that a participant is wearing clothing in excess of the number, he/she must make sure to show his/her number when arriving at the Control Station. Refusal to show the number will result in disqualification. Any athlete who fails to pass even one Control Station shall be considered invalid.
- SAFETY: The organization in cooperation with the local department of the Greek Red Cross of Kissamos, the Police, but also with a doctor and ambulance, undertakes to provide health coverage in the games with specialized staff in safety, rescue and medical assistance to participants who will find themselves in need. In cases where security personnel and judges indicate to athletes that they need to change direction (e.g. for safety reasons), participants are obliged to obey. Medical coverage by qualified personnel will be available at the Stations. If the race doctor is of the opinion that a participant is in a condition where he/she is unable to continue, the athlete is obliged to hand over the timing chip.
- MODIFICATION OF ROUTES/CANCELLATION: If necessary (e.g. weather conditions), the Organization reserves the right to modify the route or even postpone for a short period of time the starts, in order to protect the physical integrity of the participants. The race may be postponed only in case of extreme weather conditions in the area.
- RESULTS: It will be possible to view the current results (via internet) during the match. The official (final) results of both races will be made public a few hours after the end of both races after the participants' passes at the checkpoints have been cross-checked.
- PENALTIES: In all irregularities & regulation violations, disqualification/expulsion is foreseen and imposed in the following cases:
- Route pollution,
- Shortcuts (shortcuts),
- Use of technical means (use of transport)
- Inappropriate behaviour towards organisers and volunteers,
- Any other extreme behaviour.
- AWARDS - CATEGORIES OF ATHLETES
- For the race Rezakas Challenge 24,2km categories apply:General Category Men / Men 18-39 / Men 40-49 / Men 50+ - General Category Women / Women 18-39 / Women 40-49 / Women 50+
- For the race Rezakas Entry 8 km. categories apply: Men's General Category / Women's General Category - Boys up to 18 years old. / Girls up to 18 years old.
- For all individual categories, the presence of at least 3 participants is required for their legitimacy. IMPORTANT NOTE: Athletes who will be awarded in the General Category will NOT be awarded in their Age Category.
- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS: The Organization reserves the copyright of the photography and filming of the race, which is carried out by partners and volunteers. Any athlete whose application for participation is accepted automatically accepts this condition, knowing that his/her face may appear in photographs or videos, without being asked for permission and without being able to claim any compensation from any publication of race material.
- PERSONAL DATA: The Organization is committed not to disclose to third parties the personal data of athletes who apply for participation, respecting the relevant legislation and considering it an absolute moral obligation to safeguard their personal data. Only the athlete's full name, city of residence and age are disclosed.
- DISCLAIMER: The Organization is not responsible for the death, injury or any damage to the health of the athletes, who, by submitting the participation form:a) are aware of the risks that exist in the mountain environment b) confirm that their state of health is good and allows them to compete (having recently been examined by a doctor for this matter). The organisation declines all responsibility for the physical integrity of the athletes, who must behave responsibly at points of the course where there is an increased risk.
- AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS: The Organization reserves the right to modify the rules of the race without prior notice.
- INTERRUPTION/CANCELLATION OF ATHLETE: The race controllers ("sweepers") on their way, as well as the medical staff of the race, reserve the right to stop/cancel those athletes whom they consider that they are no longer able to complete their course.
- WEATHER CONDITIONS: The races will take place normally in case of rain. Except for the possibility that there may be a decision by the Civil Protection to cancel outdoor activities. In such a case, the race will be postponed and will be held on Sunday 18 February 2024 at the same time at the same location. In the event that it is postponed again there will be a further announcement.
Anything not provided for in the regulations will be decided by the organisation on the spot.
The registration for the race implies full acceptance of the above regulations. Athletes competing should understand that they are competing on mountainous, dirt and rough, sometimes rugged terrain and will be exposed to the weather conditions prevailing on the day of the race.. The organization is not responsible for the death, injury or any damage to the health of the competitors, who by submitting the participation form, declare that they are aware of the risks that exist in the mountain environment and certify that their state of health is good and allows them to compete, and they have recently been examined by a doctor for this matter. However, no athlete will be asked to provide a medical certificate. The athletes themselves are obliged to undergo regular medical check-ups to monitor their state of health. The Commission declines all responsibility for the physical integrity of the athletes, who must behave responsibly at points on the course where there is an increased risk of falling with unpleasant or fatal results.
